Here are nine ways members of the GPO team have leveraged AI to streamline their workflows. 

1. Content Creation

AI has revolutionized content creation, offering a significant boost in efficiency and saving valuable time. As an SEO and content company, we’ve integrated generative AI tools like ChatGPT to expedite the content process while ensuring that every piece of content maintains its quality and SEO-friendliness.

Now, this doesn’t mean we’re using AI to generate full blog articles that are immediately published. We offer an AI-assisted blog program, but every blog is heavily reviewed by a human writer to ensure top quality and SEO-friendliness. 

Aside from the program, gen AI helps us quickly create smaller pieces of content like social posts or title tags and meta descriptions. 

2. Content Editing

Even before the recent surge in AI’s popularity, our content team utilized AI-powered tools like Grammarly to enhance their work. These tools are invaluable in catching spelling and grammar mistakes, condensing language, and suggesting stronger synonyms to improve the overall impact of our content. 

As gen AI has become more prevalent, Grammarly has released more features, like Improve It. This feature offers ideas for improving the impact of your content so it resonates more with your audience. While our team often ignores Grammarly’s exact suggestions here, we do gain valuable insight into what sections are weaker so we can revisit and revise them. 

With AI-powered editing tools, we can minimize the number of times we need to review a content piece before it reaches the best possible version. 

3. Repurposing Content

AI can also save you a lot of time when repurposing content. That video you posted on YouTube might make a great blog post for your website. Or your most recent article could be condensed into informative bite-size social posts.

AI is a game-changer when it comes to repurposing content. It efficiently transforms one piece of content into multiple formats, maximizing the value of your original content and ensuring consistent messaging across platforms. This process is significantly faster than manually creating multiple content formats.

4. Beginner Coding Tasks

Generative AI can assist with beginner coding tasks by providing code instructions, debugging help, and even writing simple scripts. If you don’t have deep coding knowledge, this can be particularly useful for automating tasks or developing basic applications. 

For example, a GPOer wanted to automatically create Trello cards based on content calendar information in a GoogleSheet. Not having a coding background, he went to ChatGPT and asked if it was possible to use Google Apps Script to do that. ChatGPT provided him with the code needed to accomplish the task, and any time he ran into a problem, he could ask ChatGPT what went wrong and how to fix it. Now, we can all easily run the code to instantly create Trello cards, which saves our team tons of time every month. 

5. Informational Research

When researching technical or scholarly topics, it can be hard to make sense of all the information you’re reading. AI is a huge help here. You can prompt it to explain more technical concepts like cattle feed forage testing or provide it with a research paper you’re reading and ask for a more digestible summary. 

Remember, AI tools can be wrong. When using them to research, be sure to fact-check against reliable resources.  

6. Customer and Product Research

AI isn’t just great for researching factual information — it can also help you better understand problems your customers might face or the value propositions of certain products. 

We work with a wide range of clients, from fast-casual restaurants to industrial scale distributors. We don’t always have intimate knowledge of the topics we’re covering, and gen AI can help us determine where to focus our content and what ideas to highlight. We might ask something like, “why would a customer choose a pre-rolled cone over traditional rolling paper” or “explain the benefits of polyurethane waterproofing.” Leveraging AI for this task can save time that would otherwise be spent researching.

7. Simple Data Analysis

Not everybody has the time or resources to dedicate to data analysis. AI can quickly analyze data to identify trends over time, provide summaries, and create visual reports. This simplifies the data analysis process, making it accessible even to those without advanced analytical skills.

AI might help with basic data analysis, but it has limitations and may not be able to provide you with next steps for hitting your benchmarks. Consider outsourcing to professionals if you want in-depth digital marketing analytics and insights with actionable items

8. Formatting Data 

We’ve all spent hours manually formatting messy spreadsheets. While having a nicely formatted, clean spreadsheet is crucial, your human effort is better spent on other tasks. Plus, humans can make mistakes. 

Let AI handle the tedious task of formatting data so you can put your focus elsewhere. Whether you need to clean messy data, standardize the format, match a template, or validate data, AI can help. 9. Collecting and Cleaning Up Meeting Notes

AI-powered tools like Zoom’s AI Companion can automatically transcribe meeting conversations, summarize key points, and generate action items. This ensures that all important information is captured and easily accessible, reducing the need for manual note-taking and follow-up.

If you aren’t comfortable having AI listen to your entire meeting or don’t want everything transcribed, you can still use it to clean up your manual notes. It can summarize your long notes into a digestible version, highlight key ideas, add structure, correct grammar and spelling, and reformat your notes to fit your company’s standards.
