Add These 5 Health and Safety Attributes to Your Google Business Profile

The pandemic has precipitated change across the digital space. Stores are adding more online retail and delivery options. “Buy-online-pickup-in-store” or “BOPUS” is the new normal. And everyone’s turning to Google to see if their favorite boutique, restaurant, or bar is open and operating.
Google continues to add features to Google Business Profile to help brands communicate the most up-to-date information about their business.
This week, Google added health and safety attributes to GBP to help businesses communicate information about appointment, mask, and temperature check requirements.
Businesses can now let customers know ahead of time if:
- An appointment is required
- A mask is required
- Staff get temperature checks
- Staff wear mask
- Patrons must get their temperatures checked
Though small, adding these attributes can go a long way in helping to mitigate customer frustration when interacting with a business. Customers will know what to expect and can prepare accordingly. The attributes are currently viewable on Google Maps and Google Maps mobile.
